About Mentor Denton
Last year, more than 1,000 UNT students, staff and faculty expressed an interest in Mentor Denton and more than 450 were matched to make a difference! Help us continue to impact our community!
Mentor Denton offers a variety of choices of mentoring.
- School based mentor: One on one mentoring with a student at their school. Time commitment is one hour a week for an academic year.
- Community based mentor: One on one mentoring with a student, location and time is flexible. Time commitment is at least one hour a week for a calendar year. To learn more: BIG Brothers and BIG Sisters
- Human Library: Volunteer at schools when needed.
Depending on the choice you select, you will need to follow the process for application, background check and training prior to getting started.
Required Volunteer Orientations will be offered in the community and on campus by Communities in Schools for School based mentor and Tutor/Activities leaders. Trainings for other choices will be offered through those organizations.
