UNT Community Director Wins Case Study Competition
Wendy Wells, community director in Housing and Residence Life, was on the team that won the Case Study at the Association of College and University Housing Officers - International Conference and Expo in Denver, Colorado, July 7-10, 2018.
The conference unites campus housing and residence life leaders from around the world to advance their field, enhance their skills and mobilize their community.
The Case Study, held during the conference, was a competition for graduate students and new professionals (less than five years professional experience) that centered on a contemporary issue that an entry-level professional might be faced with when focusing on the growth and development of students in the residence halls. Wells and her competition partner, Justin Kyle Tanner from the University of Connecticut, had to create a plan to address a hypothetical issue pertaining to DACA and unruly behavior with a resident assistant.
“I was really excited that I won,” said Wells. “What I enjoy most about my position at UNT is working with a diverse group of students and having the opportunity to be a part of their progression in their academic studies.”
