Transfer Center

About Us

It is impossible for a new transfer student to know all the ins and outs of college life at UNT, so the Transfer Center provides support to all transfer students during their transition period.  The Transfer Center’s main goal is to help students connect to important campus resources, ensuring a successful transition to UNT.  Transfer students are very important to UNT; each fall, we welcome over 3,500 new transfer students on our campus and our goal is to be a resource to all of them.

The Transfer Center offers various opportunities that promote involvement, including Transfer Communities, Tau Sigma National Honor Society, Transfer Programs and Transfer Orientation. Throughout the semester, we host several social and academic events that allow our transfer students to make connections and learn about pertinent departments that will aid in their success. We also have free lockers that can be checked out daily or by semester and a Blackboard page for transfer students to keep you updated with a calendar of events and provide you with tips and tricks for a successful transition into UNT! To request to be added to the Blackboard page, please send an email to transfer@unt.edu.

Please browse through the site for further information on the many resources, services and programs available specifically for transfer students or check out our monthly newsletter!

Transfer Ambassadors are student leaders who also transferred from another college or university, so they can easily relate to the challenges that our students may face during their first semester at UNT.  Our Transfer Ambassadors provide one-on-one assistance and mentoring to new students.  If you ever need guidance, don’t hesitate to reach out to a Transfer Ambassador! You can make an appointment or just walk in to speak with them regarding a variety of topics, including:

  • Understanding what courses will transfer to UNT
  • Making social connections on campus
  • Choosing a major

Transfer Weekend

Eagle for a Day

The Transfer Center invites prospective transfer students to participate in Eagle for a Day, an event held during the spring semester to give prospective transfer students the opportunity to spend a day on campus. Eagle for a Day is designed to give attendees a closer, in-depth look at a "day in the life" as a UNT Eagle. Students will be able to get advice from current transfer students, learn about the transfer process, sit in on a 50 minute class being taught by UNT professors, take a campus tour, each lunch in a campus dining hall, and gain insight into programs and services specifically for transfer students at UNT.

Eagle for a Day is free for all prospective transfer students! Our Spring 2016 program took place on March 9th. Check back in August for details about our Fall 2016 Eagle for a Day!

If you have any questions or would like more information about Eagle for a Day, please contact the Transfer Center at (940) 369-7287 or at transfer@unt.edu.
