Well, team, we made it!
The first day of classes is here and I want to start by saying THANK YOU!
To say getting to this day amidst a global health crisis, a much-needed awakening to the systemic racial injustices in our country, not to mention all the other “normal” challenges this time of year always brings would be a huge understatement.
You dug in, worked hard, and rose to the occasion for our students, the Division, and UNT. Your tireless work to make our reopening as safe as possible during this health crisis is seen and appreciated by not just me and the University but by our students and their families.
There is no doubt we will face more hurdles as we continue to navigate this pandemic and its effects on us all professionally and personally.
I know you have done so much and I ask that you keep up that work for our students who count on us and will need us now more than ever.
Let’s make this a great semester filled with the most meaningful experiences we can offer our students.
These words can’t capture the pride and gratitude I have for you all.
