VP Message- Happy First Day of Classes - August 23, 2021

Dear DSA,

Here we are at the beginning of another school year! I have been so excited to see the programs and events underway these past weeks to help engage and re-engage our students. I know the past 17 months have been a herculean challenge and I can’t say thank you enough to everyone for your hard work to get us to this day.

And a big kudos to everyone who is volunteering at the Week of Welcome tents across campus. This important tradition is a university-wide initiative to show our students UNT’s caring community and to offer them support during this first week of classes.

I know that COVID remains on all of our minds with the spread of the Delta variant in our region. We want to be sure that our semester is as safe as possible by strongly encouraging everyone who can to be vaccinated, wear masks indoors and follow the Mandatory Testing Program that was implemented by President Smatresk. Also, there is still time to participate in the Vaccine Incentive Program that has been extended until Sept. 10. There are still a lot of great prizes up for grabs!

Please join me in showing our students what a caring community the Mean Green Family is and support our important safety measures. I appreciate each of you and the role you play in the development of our students. I am humbled by the work you do every day on their behalf and you have my gratitude.

Let’s make this a successful semester for them and for each other.

Take care,

Elizabeth With Ed.D.

Vice President for Student Affairs
