VP Message - Spring 2019 Semester Welcome

January 24, 2019

Dear Division of Student Affairs Team,

Now that the spring semester is underway, I want to thank everyone for all of your hard work during the busy fall semester. We celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Student Health and Wellness Center, hosted another outstanding Homecoming Week and launched the Mean Green Gowns for Grads program, just to name a few of our many successes, which you can continue to read about on our DSA News page.

I also want to welcome the new staff who joined us this past year. We are happy to have you as part of the DSA team.

Unfortunately, it is with much sadness that I inform all of you that one of our own, Kelly Davis, office manager for the Student Money Management Center, recently passed away after losing her battle with cancer. Kelly was a valued member of the division, and it breaks my heart that her life was cut short. Please keep her family and her husband, who works for URCM, and the Student Money Management Center staff in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

At the DSA Kick-Off Breakfast in the fall, I presented our Areas of Focus for 2018-2019. Please keep these in mind as we move through the spring semester and think about how you can contribute to them.

Our next division meeting will be held on Jan. 30 at 8:30 a.m. in the University Union Ballroom, and I hope to see you all there. The division meetings are a way for you to stay informed about happenings within the division and provide a great opportunity to connect with other departments.

Thank you again for the many ways each of you contribute to the division’s success. Our mission is to help students succeed here at UNT, and we could not accomplish that without your determination and dedication.

Sincerely,
Elizabeth With, Ed.D.
