VP Message - Supporting our Students

November 8, 2019

Dear UNT students,

There is no place in our community for the comments made during last night’s “When Hate Comes to Campus” event.

In case you aren’t aware, President Smatresk and UNT System Chancellor Lesa Roe, announced earlier today that the System employee resigned this morning effective immediately.

This does not erase the pain that many of you are feeling and to help address that, please remember there is counseling available for all students today in the University Union, Room 381 until 5 p.m. Our Counseling Services staff are always available to help you with any crisis or struggles you may be facing.

Today I listened to student leaders and began the process of addressing their concerns and will continue to do so in the coming days and months.

The DSA Diversity Council and I will be working closely to ensure that our staff is equipped with the resources to support you.

I am here for you and I will continue to work on ensuring that our community remains one that supports everyone.

Take care,

Elizabeth With, Ed.D.

Vice President for Student Affairs
