The Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life is a 6,000-square-foot stand-alone facility and is the first of its kind in the country. Opened in the spring of 2014, the center furnishes a place for all fraternity and sorority chapters and provides an equitable space that allows for groups to meet and work. It also gives alumni a welcoming site to visit and offers space for UNT fraternities and sororities and other recognized student organizations to reserve for programs and meetings. The Center has had the privilege of hosting a number of special programs at UNT. Those programs include; Greek Graduation, Second Chance Prom, fraternity and sorority alumni reunions, and Order of Omega initiation.

Facility Features

The Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life has an abundance of resources to meet the needs of not only the fraternity and sorority community, but the broader UNT community as well. Provided the space is available, the Center works to accommodate any request from any UNT student organization or department. Preference will be given to greek lettered organizations' request. The Center has two gendered restrooms as well as a gender neutral restroom so that any guest is comfortable in the space. Below, are the spaces we have available for groups to utilize.

The Springer Family Rotunda

The Spring Family Rotunda is the first thing you see when you visit the Center. It houses the trophy case that celebrates the amazing work our community has been recognized nationally for, as well as our community composite. Where we proudly display the fraternity and sorority community's leadership each year. Artwork adorning the rotunda has been made possible by UNT alumnus, Joelle Dietrick.

The Reception Area

The reception area is designed to be welcoming for all visitors. We proudly display all active fraternity and sorority organization crests in this space along with the four pillars of our community:

Academics

Leadership

Personal Development

Brotherhood/Sisterhood

The Geezle Fraternity Conference Room

The Geezle Fraternity Conference Room is dedicated to the first fraternal organization at UNT. It is one way we celebrate the catalysts of the fraternity and sorority community.

The Geezle Fraternity Memorial Bench

The Geezle Fraternity Memorial Bench is the second way we celebrate the first fraternal organization at UNT. The Geezle Fraternity existed as the oldest social fraternity at North Texas from 1929 until 1969. During those 40 years, many young men devoted themselves to "inculcating and promoting friendship among men of the College." But they did more than this--so much more!! When they left North Texas, these dutiful men succeeded in many fields--in business, education, public administration, medicine, and other activities of human focus. While those in the 1930s-40s are now deceased, some members from the 1950s and 1960s are available to share their memories of the Geezle Fraternity, its impact on their lives, the values they acquired, the friends they made, and the ideals from their Geezle experience that shaped their careers.

The Chapter Room

UNT recognizes the value of in-person meetings, programming, and rituals. The Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life provides the "Chapter Room" as a space for our organizations to utilize to carry out their work. The Chapter Room can be set up to meet the needs of a multitude of programs and has some technological capabilities. Any questions regarding how the chapter room may be utilized can be directed to CFSL staff at cfsl@unt.edu

The Chapter Room Kitchen

The Chapter Room also has access to a kitchen that may be utilized as a staging area for any food or snacks a group wishes to have. Complete with an industrial grade ice maker and refrigerator, groups have the ability to store and serve food and snacks without interrupting their programming within the chapter room.
