My name is Braden Weinmann (pronouns: They/Them/Theirs), and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern practicing under the supervision of David Huffman, Ph. D., LPC-S, RPT-S. I completed my BS in Psychology at Angelo State University in my hometown of San Angelo, TX, and I completed my MS degree in Counseling from the University of North Texas. I completed my master’s practicum experience at UNT Counseling and Testing in Spring and Summer 2019 and went on to join CTS as a part-time counselor in February 2020. My passion for counseling is holding space for students who want to explore their sexuality, gender identity, and gender expression in an affirming environment. As a queer and non-binary individual, I aim to engage in counseling and advocacy on college campuses with the intent of helping students feel safer and more empowered to connect with themselves and with their community. I use person-centered theory, relational-cultural theory, and the relational depth approach as my foundation for building counseling relationships with students that are deeply affirming of lived experiences. I also have knowledge, skills, and experience doing dreamwork in counseling, and I enjoy helping clients create meaning by openly processing dream imagery and content.
