Katie Hermes

Hello, my name is Katie and I am passionate about helping college students achieve their academic, personal and professional goals! I have worked at UNT since 2008, most recently as an Academic Advisor in the College of Education. I also have experience with  Financial Aid and Housing & Residence Life.  In 2019, I earned an M.S. degree in Educational Psychology.

I coordinate events like First Gen Experience, Popcorn Wednesdays and From First Gen to Full Time.  I also meet with students for one-on-one appointments.  I'm happy to chat in-person at the FGSC or online about academic concerns, financial aid, personal goals, career preparation, ways to get involved on campus and more. My husband and I live in Denton and enjoy supporting the Community Market and local businesses.   I love a good jigsaw puzzle, traveling, music, and cheering for the Denver Broncos.

Favorite Campus Event: Art Mart and the University Day picnic.

Fun Fact: I am from a big family and have 7 nieces and nephews!
