**Due to the amount of students coming in at this point in the semester, please note that if you no-show for your appointment, you may not be able to reschedule this semester. Crisis appointments are always available for safety/urgent concerns, and a wide variety of groups and drop-in workshops are available. Please see our Group Counseling and Workshops section, and check out Therapy Assistance Online (TAO) for self-help 24/7.**

Counseling and Testing Services (CTS) is committed to excellence and believes in the value of the whole student. We strive to be student centered and to remove barriers to your success.

Counseling services are free for all UNT students. Payment for services is included in your student fees, and no additional fees apply. Any student currently attending classes is eligible for all CTS services.

CTS offers the following services:

There also are dedicated housing counselors in Maple Hall. If you live in any UNT residence hall, please ask if the housing counselors are available for an appointment through the CTS scheduling office by calling 940.565.2741.

To Schedule an Appointment

For an appointment, please call 940.565.2741 or visit our center on the third floor of Chestnut Hall, Suite 311, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Fridays, and the first available appointment will be provided for you. Typically, appointments are scheduled within a few business days (possibly sooner if there is a cancellation), unless it is a crisis. In a crisis situation, scheduling will be expedited. From mid-semester through the end of the semester, there may be a wait for an intake appointment due to the volume of students seeking assistance. During this period, a counselor will determine the best plan for your needs, which may include scheduling another brief session, scheduling an intake appointment or discussing referral options.

Crisis walk-ins are available if you are in crisis, or you can take advantage of other local crisis resources found on the CTS website.

In addition, you may access any of the multiple CTS drop-in workshops that are available at a wide variety of times throughout the week.

You also can also take advantage of the new CTS Therapy Assistance Online (TAO) self-help program either while you are waiting for an initial appointment or as a well-researched alternative to individual therapy.

Evening and Weekend Emergency Procedures
