Thank you for your interest in the We Mean Green Fund (WMGF) Committee! The We Mean Green Fund is a funding resource available to UNT students, faculty, and staff with tangible project ideas they’d like to implement and lead on campus to increase environmental stewardship efforts at our university.

We Mean Green Fund Committee members serve as ambassadors for the We Mean Green Fund and recommend the allocation of funds from the student Environmental Service Fee to support environmental sustainability projects at the UNT Denton campus. Annually, committee members evaluate written project proposals developed by UNT students, staff, and faculty and listen to proposal presentations before voting on project funding decisions as a group. Committee members are welcome to submit a We Mean Green Fund proposal to create campus change too! In addition to allocating funding to new campus sustainability projects, committee members have a platform to encourage sustainable practices and promote positive behavior changes on campus. To maintain membership, committee members participate in a minimum of three outreach or service opportunities each fall and spring semester during their two-year term to engage in ongoing funded projects and support the mission of the We Mean Green Fund.

There are 13 committee seats with voting privileges. The committee consists of 10 UNT students and 3 UNT faculty and/or staff members.

We are currently seeking applications from students, staff, and faculty. You may join our mailing list if you'd like to be contacted about future committee seat openings and apply at a future date.

Through participation with the committee, committee members develop:

  • Leadership abilities
  • Communication and teamwork tactics
  • Organizational awareness
  • Budgeting and critical thinking skills
  • Project management experience, and more
