All 8 Panhellenic sororities participate in formal primary recruitment. Primary recruitment is a week-long event that ends with Bid Night ceremonies. Families and friends are welcome to attend the Panhellenic Bid Day ceremony at the Sorority Courtyard on campus. Incoming freshman will have an opportunity to learn about Panhellenic Recruitment and each individual chapter through New Student Orientation and First Flight Week.
Registration is REQUIRED to participate and early registration is highly encouraged.

Requirements for Recruitment
Panhellenic Sorority Recruitment Book
The 2018 Recruitment Book contains a detailed schedule, general membership and financial information, and suggestions on the appropriate attire of the Fall 2018 Primary Recruitment. A hard copy of the recruitment book may be obtained at the Greek Life Center.
Spring 2019 Sorority Recruitment
UNT Panhellenic does not have a formal or informal Spring recruitment. During the Spring semester chapters with membership opportunities will participate in a process referred to as Continuous Open Bidding (COB). Chapters will individually host events or invite you to get to know the chapter. These events are usually casual and provide a fun and relaxed environment where you will be able to get to know one another before potentially joining the organization.
NOTE: Not all chapters will be participating in COB or have membership opportunities. Feel free to contact the Office of Greek Life or the Panhellenic VP of Recruitment of Retention for more information regarding COB.
**Chapters participating in COB will not be known until late Fall and closer to the Spring semester.
Panhellenic Interest Form
The Panhellenic Interest Form is used outside the time of Primary Recruitment to gather information from any current UNT student interested in learning more about Greek Life and specifically UNT Panhellenic. If there are membership opportunities for any chapter at any point in the semester we pass that information along.
If you are interested in providing your information to chapters CLICK HERE. (This is not a registration form and is only available outside of primary recruitment. To register for primary Fall recruitment, please see above.) This form will be made available to all of the sororities participating in COB and allows them to know more about you. By notifying us of your interest in Panhellenic, you are consenting to the Office of Greek Life verifying your grades to determine your eligibility. The Office of Greek Life minimum GPA requirement for membership is Incoming Freshmen - 2.75 (cumulative GPA) and Transfer/UNT Student - 2.5 (cumulative transfer or UNT GPA). Please know that some chapters may have a higher requirement.
It is important to know that not all chapters participate in COB. If you don't find a chapter you feel fits you, you can participate in Primary Recruitment in the Fall.
You have the opportunity to submit a recommendation from an alumna member of that sorority before the sorority can offer her membership. A recommendation simply introduces a woman to a sorority to help the sorority members become acquainted with her prior to recruitment. All recommendations letters/forms can be mailed directly to the individual chapter or to UNT Panhellenic for distribution to the chapter. Recommendation letters/forms are not required in order to participate in recruitment.
Each national sorority has its own guidelines and often its own recommendation forms that its alumna members must use. The UNT Panhellenic Association does not provide these forms nor any information regarding an individual sorority's recommendation requirements. If an alumna is not familiar with her own sorority's regulations, she should contact the national sorority.

AlcoholEdu and Haven
As part of prevention efforts for the campus, the University of North Texas expects every new student who is joining Greek Life to complete MANDATORY online courses called AlcoholEdu and Haven. This course offers a confidential, personalized experience creating awareness and education regarding the effects of alcohol and drugs. All survey responses are confidential; UNT will only receive information about the student body as a whole and will never see any individual student's answers. These must be completed prior to the start of recruitment. You will not be able to receive an invitation to membership (Bid) without completing this requirement.
Sign-in using your EUID and password at my.unt.edu. There will be a link to AlcoholEdu and Haven on the right-side of the portal; the link will take you to the website where you will begin the course.
Tips: Before logging into My.UNT.edu turn off your Pop-up Blocker; if Pop-up Blocker is on, it prevents the course from opening
