What did you want to be when you were growing up?

A lawyer.

Other than your current job, what careers have you held?

Store manager, visual merchandiser, and buyer in retail; bank teller; radio station manager and disc jockey; English teacher; then moved into academic advising.

When you were in high school, how did you choose your career path?

Other people told me I should be a lawyer since they make lots of money.

Who inspires you?

I have been blessed with strong women in my life. My grandmothers were amazing women who taught me to love God, how to cook, sew, and love life. My mom has also been a wonderful role model. She held various jobs that required more education, such as court coordinator, justice of the peace, and realtor.

What three traits best describe you?

Positive, hard-working, and adaptable.

What are your skills or talents that most people don't know about?

I'm pretty creative and crafty.

What's your favorite place in the world?

Anywhere with my family.

If you could visit any place you've never been, where would you go?

Scotland.

What do you enjoy when you're not working or studying?

Going to the movies or watching sports, the Texas Rangers or Dallas Cowboys.

What are your favorite books and/or movies?

BOOK: The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. MOVIE: Tombstone.
