The UNT Career Center named Hasan Osman, a logistics and supply chain major, the winter Student of the Quarter for 2019. The Quarterly Student Spotlight highlights students who are doing big, exciting and often innovative jobs and services around their communities.
Any current UNT student serving as an employee, intern or volunteer may be nominated by on-campus employers, off-campus employers, business and strategic partners, student organization leaders and UNT faculty and staff though the online form. The nominations are reviewed by a committee of Career Center staff who then refer the top nominees on to a student committee that makes the final decision on the quarterly winner.
Osman, who will be graduating in December, has a 3.4 GPA and has been involved on campus as an orientation leader, treasurer of Phi Kappa Phi Fraternity and president of the Muslim Student Association. He previously worked for Buc’ees and currently works as a supply chain intern at Elbit Systems of America, where his primary responsibilities are working with ERP systems and purchasing.
“Hasan always seeks out new opportunities to expand his knowledge, help the team and others,” said Osman’s supervisor. “He wants to make the most of this internship, this experience and is growing and gaining knowledge daily.”
Osman quickly jumped in to assist his employer to help another division within the company efficiently complete their year-end push. He is involved in not only his own direct duties but also takes advantage of other opportunities to be involved and network at Elbit Systems of America.
“Hasan is another example of the strong work ethic and excellent representation made by UNT students in the workplace,” said Dan Naegeli, executive director of career and leadership development.
