Non-Trad Week 2018

UNT's Non-Traditional (Non-Trad) Student Appreciation Week is a full week of programming for Non-Traditional Students and their supporters. This year, we celebrate from October 8-12, 2018.

Event Schedule 

Monday, October 8

Union Art Workshop: Screen Printing, Union 314, 11am-1pm

Instructor James Jenkins will teach students the art of screen printing! Students will work hand in hand with the artist to make a work of art, either on fabric or a t-shirt, that can be taken home after the program! Open to both students and non-students on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

Learning 101: Note-Taking Skills, Sage 342, 12-1pm

Professors make their exams using information from class lectures and assigned reading. Learn how to listen for test material in class and how to identify key points in your test to make the best use of your time. Open to both students and non-students.

Professional Picture Day, Willis 250J, 5-6:30pm

Make sure employers see you at your best. Professional Picture Day is a chance for you to take a FREE digital headshot to use on resumes, LinkedIn, and Facebook. In addition, the Career Center will be there to answer questions, set up appointments, and review resumes. Open to current UNT students only.

Tuesday, October 9

Learning 101: Time Management, Sage 342, 3-4pm

Non-traditional students couldn't be busier! Learn how to effectively utilize a planner and prioritize tasks so that you can achieve a balance between school, work, and social activities. Open to both students and non-students.

1155 Live: Berhana, Library Mall, 8-9pm

Join us for a soulful concert with LA based artist Berhana. Open to both students and non-students.

Wednesday October 10

Health and Fitness Expo, Chestnut Hall, 11am-1pm

The Health and Fitness Expo is an annual health fair that highlights the on-campus departments and off-campus vendors that provide assistance with all aspects of student health and wellbeing. Open to both students and non-students.

Grad Map: Paying for Grad School, BLB 250, 12-1pm & 4-5pm

Thinking about going on to graduate school, but unsure what the costs will be or how to pay? Join the Student Money Management Center as we explore Graduate School costs from application and test fees to stipends, teaching assistantships, and other funding options. Open to current UNT students only.

Non-Trad and Grad Student BBQ, Library Mall (Near Fuzzys in Union if rain), 4-6pm

Free BBQ & networking opportunities with your fellow non-trad or grad student peers! Open to current UNT students only.

Arthouse Film Series: The Witch (Rated R), Union Lyceum, 6pm

Open to both students and non-students.

Friday, October 12

Family Fun Night, Environmental Science Building, 5:30pm-7pm

You and your family can blast off into outer space at Family Fun Night. Rocket to the moon in a bounce house, create colorful planets and moons at the star crafting station, look like an alien with face painting, and more! Open to current UNT students and their families.
