Due to COVID-19, ETS requires that all test takers wear protective face-masks at all times during their exam. Failure to do so may result in having your testing appointment canceled.

Summary of Exam

The Praxis exam is for candidates hoping to enter teaching programs. There are many different exams for many different teaching programs, and as a result the exam varies widely in content and duration.

ID Requirements

For those testing within their Country of Citizenship, you must provide a government-issued driver’s license or passport with name, photo, and signature.

Test takers testing outside of their country of citizenship must present a valid passport with their name, photograph, and signature as their primary ID document. A driver’s license presented alongside a permanent resident’s card may also be accepted. Test takers testing outside of their country of citizenship who bring only a driver’s license will not be allowed to test.

Limited-term driver’s licenses will not be accepted as a valid form of ID.

  • Where can I park?

  • What do I need to bring?

You will need to bring proper identification (see above) and a good attitude! A small snack or water is also encouraged. We will have everything else you will need to take the test.

  • How long is the exam?

The exam is 4.5 hours long.

  • Are breaks allowed during the test?

The PRAXIS does not have a scheduled break. Unscheduled breaks may be taken at any time, however testing time will not be stopped during any unscheduled breaks.

  • Where will I store my personal belongings during the test?

You will be provided a secure locker for your personal belongings before testing begins.
