UNT Community Garden

The UNT Community Garden originated as a student-led project funded by the UNT We Mean Green Fund.
The mission of the garden is to promote environmental education, grow food organically,
and foster a community focused on a greener, healthier future for everyone.

We will be mulching the pathways, addressing the compost bins, and native flower bed maintenance. 

September 14th, 2019 8:30 am - 10:30 am  Garden Workday UNT Community Garden 

Weeding pathways, cleaning tools in the tool shed. 

September 27th, 2019  6:30 pm - 7:30 pm Garden Workday UNT Community Garden

We will be putting down cardboard weed barriers on all of the paths. 

October 1st, 2019  5:30 pm- 6:30 pm Garden Orientation (BY INVITATION ONLY) UNT Community Garden

Orientation is by invitation only, for those who have completed the UNT Community Garden Plot Membership Application. 

October 4th, 2019 11:30 am-12:30 pm         Pollinators in the Garden Workshop UNT Community Garden 

Pollinator workshop with special guest Janet Laminack of theTexas AgriLife Horticulture Extension Office will give gardeners a hands-on workshop in the garden to teach about how to attract pollinators.

October 12th, 2019 8:30 am -10:30 am Garden Workshop and workday UNT Community Garden

Join us for a fall planting garden workshop demo. Garden members will learn how to prepare their gardens for fall. Anyone is welcome to attend this educational session.

EPA Representative Stephen Sturdivant will be presenting a talk on Reducing Food Waste and what students can do about it.
