The mission of the UNT Community Garden is to provide a unique platform on campus for our university to sustainably and organically grow food, promote education, and foster a community focused on a greener, healthier future for everyone.
Regardless of previous gardening experience, any UNT student, faculty or staff member is encouraged to become part of this growing community for collaborative learning. This space was created through a student-led proposal to the We Mean Green Fund Committee in 2015. Located behind Legends Hall, the space features twenty raised gardening plots for growing organic vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Each plot is managed year-round by garden members.
UNT Community Garden membership is free for UNT student, faculty, and staff groups or individuals. All necessary supplies are provided for members by the We Mean Green Fund.
Garden workdays and gardening workshops are offered throughout the year as opportunities for community service and learning. These events are free and open to the UNT community.
Find the Garden Facilitator in the garden during these times (when the weather is cooperative).
