A Time to Celebrate

Graduation is a special time for our UNT graduates to take time to reflect and celebrate all that they have achieved here in their academic journey. Each Spring semester, the Eagle Engagement Center wants to join the fun! We do so two ways for students. See below for more info. 

 

On your UNT Commencement day, the EEC provides the opportunity for our Non-Traditional Students & Student Parents to highlight their experience and celebrate that! In the Spring, students will have the opportunity to sign up for one or both of our graduation cords! Availability is limited so make sure to keep a look out on here on our EEC Website and your UNT Student Email to learn when our sign up opens for Spring 2027. Every student that signs up for a graduation cord will get the opportunity submit a photo they would like to be posted here on our page!

About Our Cords: 

For our Non-Traditional Students, we offer a maroon graduation cord to mark your journey reflecting remarkable perseverance, resilience, and dedication—not only to your goals, but to believing in yourselves every step of the way. Your commitment inspires our campus and reminds us that success has no single path or timeline.

For our Student Parents, we offer a light blue graduation cord to recognize your academic journey was shaped by love, responsibility, and sacrifice. You have balanced exams with bedtime stories, papers with parent-teacher meetings, and deadlines with family responsibilities. Being a student parent means pursuing education not only for yourself, but for those who look up to you every day. Your perseverance sets a powerful example!

The Eagle Engagement Center hosts a Spring Graduation Recognition Ceremony every April in the Spring semster. While this is not your official UNT Commencement Ceremony, it is an event specifically to celebrate you and all other non-traditional and student parent graduates! Family and friends are invited to join us here for a relaxed, celebratory affair made just for you!
