Military Tuition Assistance is a benefit paid to eligible members of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard, and Coast Guard. Congress has given each service the ability to pay up to $250 per semester credit hour for the tuition expenses of its members. Each military branch has its own criteria for eligibility, obligated service, application process and restrictions. Click on the following links for detailed information:

In order to apply for Tuition Assistance, the service member should first speak with their Education Service Officer, military counselor, or Service as approval for Tuition Assistance is granted through your respective Service.  Below is a link to the education portal for each Service:

Once approved for Tuition Assistance through your Service, you will need to bring the Student Veteran Services - Benefits office your voucher indicating what amount your Service is paying and for which class.

Note: the DoD announced that they will no longer authorize Tuition Assistance for classes for which a member is also receiving benefits under the Montgomery GI Bill® - Selected Reserve program (chapter 1606 of title 10, United States Code), Reserve Educational Assistance Program (chapter 1607 of title 10, United States Code), or any other GI Bill® program other than the Montgomery GI Bill® - Active Duty program (chapter 30 of title 38, United States Code) or the Post-9/11 GI Bill® program (chapter 33 of title 38, United States Code).
