At the University of North Texas, Student Veteran Services is proud to support more than 3,000 student veterans and their dependents. What may seem like a challenge to some is our daily commitment—helping veterans transition confidently into college life and onward into meaningful careers.
At UNT, we honor the dedication and sacrifices of our student veterans and their families
by providing tailored support every step of the way. Whether you're transitioning
from active duty, navigating life as a military dependent, or continuing your education
after service, Student Veteran Services is here to ensure your journey is supported,
your goals are within reach, and your experience at UNT is both meaningful and empowering.
From academic honor societies like SALUTE to the camaraderie of Omega Delta Sigma, our programming is built to foster connection
and achievement. Veterans also have access to a dedicated lounge in Sage Hall—a welcoming
space to study, socialize, or simply relax.
And when it comes to life after college, we’ve got you covered. Our strong partnership with UNT’s Career Center connects student veterans with top employers and career opportunities.
Recognized as a Veteran Friendly Campus by Military Times, U.S. Veteran Magazine, and GI Jobs, UNT is a place where your military experience is respected, your goals are supported, and your future is wide open.
The UNT Veterans’ Memorial Wall, located on the third floor of the University Union in the left-hand corner of the main doors, serves as a tribute to those who have served in the armed forces.
The Military Order of the Purple Heart designated UNT as a Purple Heart University on May 3, 2018. The honor recognizes UNT’s commitment to serving veterans and their families and celebrates all members of the UNT community who serve or have served in the military.
