The Collegiate Panhellenic Council (CPC) at the University of North Texas is home to eight sororities affiliated with the National Panhellenic Conference. But CPC is more than a governing body. It’s a sisterhood, a support system, and a launchpad for your college journey and beyond.
College is a time of transformation and growth, and joining a Panhellenic sorority at UNT can be one of the most empowering decisions you make. Sorority life is designed to support your success as a student and as a future leader. Sorority life offers a built-in support system that helps you thrive academically, personally and professionally. From study groups and academic mentorship to leadership opportunities and service projects, sororities are designed to help you grow into the best version of yourself. You’ll gain confidence, build lifelong friendships, and develop skills that serve you far beyond graduation. Whether you're navigating your first year or preparing for your future career, your sorority sisters will be there to support, challenge and celebrate you every step of the way. When you join a sorority, you’re you’re joining a legacy of empowered women who are making their mark on campus and in the world.

Panhellenic sororities participate in formal primary recruitment. Primary recruitment is a week-long event that ends with Bid Day celebrations. Incoming first-year students will have an opportunity to learn about Panhellenic Recruitment and each individual chapter through New Student Orientation and First Flight Week.
Registration is REQUIRED to participate and early registration is highly encouraged. Registration is $50.00 and is now open! Click here to sign up for the formal recruitment experience! This registration fee goes towards reservations, recruitment software, and other supplies needed to conduct recruitment. You can find the 2025 Formal Recruitment Lookbook here!
The Continuous Open Bidding period is only available for a select few chapters that do not fill their quota of new members. Women that withdrew from the formal period prior to MRABA signing and women that have not participated in formal recruitment are eligible to participate. If you did not register for the formal recruitment period, please sign up here.
UNT Panhellenic does not have formal or informal Spring recruitment. During the Spring semester, chapters with membership opportunities will participate in a process referred to as Continuous Open Bidding (COB). Chapters will individually host events or invite potential new members to get to know the chapter. These events are usually casual and provide a fun and relaxed environment where potential new members will be able to get to know one another before potentially joining the organization.
Fraternities/Sororities have been self-sufficient since their inception. Members of these groups pay their own way through dues, membership fees and one-time new member or initiation fees. Cost of membership in a Greek-lettered organization varies, depending on the organization and housing options. However, the cost of living in a fraternity or sorority house is generally comparable to living on campus. Students can expect a financial obligation of $1,400-$2,600 to join one of these chapters (this amount is not paid all at once).
If cost is a deterrent to go through recruitment or join a sorority, contact FSL@UNT.EDU to talk through options.
