Celebrating brotherhood, sisterhood and a legacy of leadership

The Greek Graduation Ceremony at the University of North Texas marks a milestone. It is a tribute to the bonds, leadership, and service that define the fraternity and sorority experience.

This special event honors graduating members of UNT’s Fraternity and Sorority Life community. It’s a moment to reflect on your journey, celebrate your achievements, and walk proudly alongside your Greek peers.

Recognition and Honor

The Fraternity and Sorority Life Involvement Cord is a powerful symbol of your commitment, leadership and growth within UNT’s FSL community. It’s a tribute to the impact you’ve made and the legacy you leave behind.

A cord of three strands is not easily broken.

All graduating students who have been active members of a recognized fraternity or sorority at UNT are eligible to receive the Fraternity and Sorority Life Involvement cord. There's meaning behind the colors, because each strand of cord tells a part of your story. Together, the colors reflect the strength of your experience.

  • Gold – Celebrates your success and achievements throughout your college journey.
  • Silver – Represents the four pillars that define Greek life: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Brotherhood/Sisterhood.

Members of Greek honor societies are also recognized with honor cords. These cords symbolize excellence in leadership, academics, and service within the Greek community.
