Students or student groups may be disciplined and sanctioned for the misconduct of hazing under the UNT Code of Student Conduct. For more information, please visit the Dean of Students Conduct page.

 


Campus Hazing Transparency Report

Student groups are those that are defined as groups registered with the Student Activities Office, or groups who officially represent the university, including, an association, corporation, order, society, corps, club, or student government, a band or musical group or an academic, athletic, cheerleading, or dance team, including any group or team that participates in National Collegiate Athletic Association competition, or a service, social, or similar group, whose members are primarily students. Each student group must abide by the Code of Student Conduct (UNT Policy 07.012) and UNT Hazing Policy (UNT Policy 07.013).  Those found responsible for hazing will be listed below in accordance with Texas Education Code, sections 37.151 (5) and (6) as well as Section 485(f) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 .

Phi Kappa Tau - Zeta Theta Chapter  November 16th, 2024; Fall 2024 Calisthenics, sleep deprivation, and other intentional acts that led to health and safety risks, for the purposes of pledging & being initiated into a group. Distribution of Alcohol to Minor(s) Section IX-F2 - Acts Affecting Health, Safety, or Welfare - Hazing Responsible Student Group Suspension until Spring, 2026. Upon the chapter's return to campus as a recognized student organization, this chapter will be placed on Conduct Probation for one Academic Year. Phi Kappa Tau - Zeta Theta Chapter will also complete other assigned educational sanctions. In accordance with regulations with the Texas Education Code, Section 51.936(c), Phi Kappa Tau- Zeta Theta will be placed on the hazing list at the University of North Texas for 3 years. Pi Kappa Alpha - Epsilon Delta Spring 2025  Calisthenics, intentional acts for the purposes on maintaining membership in a student group. Distribution of Alcohol to Minor(s) Section IX-F2 - Acts Affecting Health, Safety, or Welfare - Hazing                                                 Section VI-F5 - Acts Affecting Health, Safety, or Welfare - Distribution of Alcohol to a Minor Responsible Conduct Probation until the end of the Fall 2025 semester. Pi Kappa Alpha- Epsilon Delta will develop a hazing prevention program to educate the fraternity and sorority life community about hazing.  Pi Kappa Alpha - Epsilon Delta, with guidance from their headquarters, will develop and review a risk and safety plan. This plan will address the concerns of this case including but not limited to hazing and underage drinking, and any other recommendations put
forward from headquarters. In accordance with regulations with the Texas Education Code, Section 51.936(c), Pi Kappa Alpha- Epsilon Delta will be placed on the hazing list at the University of North Texas for 3 years.

Theta Chi - Delta Phi Fall 2024, Spring 2025 Intentional acts that led to health and safety risks for the purposes on maintaining membership in a student group.  N/A Section IX-F2 - Acts Affecting Health, Safety, or Welfare - Hazing                                                 Section VI-F5 - Acts Affecting Health, Safety, or Welfare - Distribution of Alcohol to a Minor Responsible Conduct Probation until the end of  the Spring 2026 Semester. For Fall 2025, Theta Chi- Delta Phi is limited to a maximum of two social events, excluding philanthropy, recruitment, and tailgates. Theta Chi- Delta Phi will have no alcohol at any events through the end of the Fall 2025 semester, with the exception that they may have up to three tailgates with alcohol. Theta Chi- Delta Phi, with guidance from their international headquarters, will develop a risk and safety plan. This plan will address the concerns of this case including but not limited to hazing (pledge tasks and alcohol), safety protocol to ensure substances are not given to other members without their knowledge such as laxatives, a safety plan to ensure alcohol is not consumed by those underage at any Theta Chi events, and any other recommendations put forward from international headquarters. In accordance with regulations with the Texas Education Code, Section 51.936(c), Theta Chi - Delta Phi will be placed on the hazing list at the University of North Texas for 3 years. North Texas Cheerleaders 2023, 2024 Intentional acts that led to health and safety risks for the purposes on maintaining membership in a student group.  N/A  Section G-5-B: Conduct Affecting Health, Safety or Welfare - Hazing Responsible North Texas Cheer will be under Conduct Probation from now until the end of Spring 2026 semester.  North Texas Cheer will be required to complete a hazing training given by Student Activities annually. For this year, 100% of the members must complete this training by the end of January 2026.  In accordance with regulations with the Texas Education Code, Section 51.936(c), North Texas Cheer will be placed on the hazing list at the University of North Texas for 3 years. Responsible Sigma Phi Epsilon - Texas Beta will be placed under Conduct Probation until the end of the Fall 2026 Semester. Sigma Phi Epsilon - Texas Beta members are required to complete 10 hours of community service per member. Sigma Phi Epsilon- Texas Beta will plan and present an Alcohol and Drug Education program. All current members must complete a mandatory hazing education program, given by both your nationals organization and the Dean of Students Office. Sigma Phi Epsilon - Texas Beta is allowed to continue participating in philanthropy events, recruitment, chapter meetings, the above listed programs, and limited social events of tailgates where the first two must include no alcohol and provided Sigma Phi Epsilon - Texas Beta follows any and all University Policies. In accordance with regulations with the Texas Education Code, Section 51.936(c) and Section 485(f) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 1092(f)) which requires public institutions to disclose and maintain a Campus Hazing Transparency Report, Sigma Phi Epsilon will be placed on the hazing list at the University of North Texas for 5 years. The chapter will also conduct bi-weekly meetings between the Balanced Man Program Manager and the Chapter Counselor to review program implementation, track member development, and ensure adherence to all program expectations, as directed by their Nationals.  November 6th, 2025 - February 17th, 2026 February 17th, 2026

Section G-5-B: Conduct Affecting Health, Safety or Welfare - Hazing

Responsible Student Group Suspension until the end of the Spring 2031 Semester. Upon the organization's return to UNT, the organization's advisor must be approved by UNT Center for Leadership Development. Any group activity confirmed while on Suspension would result in an extension of the suspension period (includes no letters being worn or displayed or any representation as a organization at UNT). Upon receiving permission to return to the University,  the organization must provide a list of all members and alumni who will be involved in any intake process to the UNT Center for Leadership Development. The University reserves the right to disapprove of any individual participation the intake process. Failure to provide this list will be considered a violation of the terms of re-establishment of the organization at the University of North Texas. Any currently affiliated student members are prohibited from being affiliated with the chapter upon reactivation. In accordance with regulations with the Texas Education Code, Section 51.936(c) and Section 485(f) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 1092(f)) which requires public institutions to disclose and maintain a Campus Hazing Transparency Report, Omega Psi Phi will be placed on the hazing list at the University of North Texas for 5 years.  February 3rd, 2026  - April 13th, 2026  April 13th, 2026
Alpha Phi Alpha - Eta Epsilon Spring 2026 Calisthenics, intentional acts for the purposes on maintaining membership in a student group. N/A

Section G-5-B: Conduct Affecting Health, Safety or Welfare - Hazing

Responsible Alpha Phi Alpha - Eta Epsilon will be placed under Conduct Probation until the end of the Fall 2026 Semester. Eta Epsilon is permitted to have no more than three social events while on probation. All events must be registered and approved through OrgSync. Please note that events are defined as "all meetings, activities, functions, or programs" according to Student Organizations policy 07.019 . Philanthropic events are excluded from this and are permitted without restrictions as long as they follow University policies. Tailgates will also be excluded and permitted. All current members for the Fall 2026 semester must complete a mandatory hazing education program, given by the Dean of Students Office. This must be completed by October 15, 2026. In accordance with regulations with the Texas Education Code, Section 51.936(c) and Section 485(f) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 1092(f)) which requires public institutions to disclose and maintain a Campus Hazing Transparency Report, Alpha Phi Alpha will be placed on the hazing list at the University of North Texas for 5 years. Alpha Phi Alpha - Eta Epsilon will also comply with any requirements issued by Alpha Phi Alpha National Headquarters.  March 16th, 2026 - April 24th, 2026 April 24th, 2026
  • Texas Education Code, sections 37.151 (5) and (6) requires public institutions to disclose a hazing report that will be continually updated.
  • Section 485(f) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 1092(f)) requires public institutions to disclose and maintain a Campus Hazing Transparency Report.
  • Student groups will remain on the report for a period of 5 years.
  • Student groups may have been investigated and found responsible for additional violations of the Code of Student Conduct that are not listed on this report because they are not required to be disclosed. Sanctions listed in this report may be reflective of all violations of the Student Code of Conduct, not just the hazing violation.
  • Sanctioning is based on the severity of the behavior and any pattern of behavior the student group may have.
