About Scrappy

In 1922, students picked the Eagle as our mascot because it represents sharp vision, strength, independence, and loyalty. In 1950, the first live eagle mascot was named “Scrappy,” and later that name was given to the human mascot. Over the years, the Eagle had other names, like “Eppy” in the 1980s. But in 1995, Scrappy returned as the ultimate Mean Green fan and has been cheering ever since!

Fun Fact: Scrappy can do more push-ups than most fans, especially after a Mean Green touchdown!
