TAMS - Green In Grid Out

The TAMS (Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science) Green In Grid Out project, funded by the We Mean Green Fund was created to change students' mindsets regarding energy usage by challenging them to produce their energy through bicycle pedaling. Five bike stations were set up in the Mac Cafe in McConnell Hall, and students could sign up to take their phone or laptop off the grid for a certain number of days. This challenge brought about social change by showing students how much energy they are using every day and promoting further student-led research on innovative ways in which we can promote clean energy usage.

This project was proposed in the spring of 2015 with the support of the TAMS program. It was implemented during the 2015 - 2016 fiscal year.
