Class of 2024, Kinesiology
"I have learned so much, not only in my classes, but in my personal life as well. I have had great professors that truly care about what they are teaching and who want me to succeed. The people I've met have been the best part of my experience."
What attracted you to UNT?

"I knew I wanted to study kinesiology, and when I toured UNT, I got to meet people from the department and get a feel for what it would be like. After that, I knew it was the place I wanted to be!"

How have you gotten involved on campus?

"I have been a member of Chi Omega since my freshman year, and have worked in the Division of Student Affairs for over two years now. Through these, I have had so many opportunities to be involved in different events around campus."

In what ways has being involved on campus helped you develop valuable skills that extend beyond the classroom?

"Chi Omega has been a foundation to helping me grow in my communication and time management skills, which has helped me while working in Student Affairs. I feel that I have become more confident in my abilities. These are skills I will practice for the rest of my life. At Chi Omega, we organize multiple philanthropy events to support Make-A-Wish causes. The experience has helped me become familiar with donations and fundraising. Though they are different causes, I feel like my involvement with Chi Omega has also prepared me for working with our director of development in Student Affairs. I have been able to work with Student Affairs donors, including gifts to the UNT Food Pantry and UNT Cares. I get to see the generosity of UNT alumni and how they support us students."

What advice would you give a student who is looking to make the most out of their college experience?

"I would say don’t be afraid to push yourself and get involved! It can be intimidating not knowing anyone, but you could meet so many amazing people by going a little bit out of your comfort zone. I’m glad I did!"

What resources did you utilize to explore and find the right campus organizations for you?

"I really just talked to some of my friends about it and heard of organizations by word of mouth. I know there are great resources online to find campus organizations."

How has your UNT experience been so far?

"It has been great! I have learned so much, not only in my classes, but in my personal life as well. I have had great professors that truly care about what they are teaching and who want me to succeed. The people I’ve met have been the best part of my experience."

If you could recommend students attend one campus activity or event, what would it be and why?

"I would say attend the homecoming events, specifically the bonfire! Everyone comes together and you really get to see our school spirit."

Fun fact about you?

"I love to cook and bake, and I hope to create my own cookbook one day!"

What are your plans after graduating from UNT?

"I want to work in nutrition, so I plan on becoming a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and possibly also getting my personal training certification and working right away."
