Department: Counseling and Testing Services
What does your role entail/what do you do: "I am a Counselor at UNT Counseling & Testing Services in Chestnut Hall. I provide free mental health counseling to the students at UNT and help them work through things like depression, anxiety, stress, relationships, and a wide range of other issues."
What is your favorite part about working at UNT: "One thing I enjoy about working at UNT is getting to give back to the community I have been a part of for the last 10 years. I received my Bachelor's and Master's from UNT and have been on staff since finishing my degree 2 years ago."
How have UNT students impacted your life: "The students impact me every day. I get to spend a lot of time hearing about the multitude of issues that students deal with outside of the classroom and it is always a great reminder that everyone has so much more going on beneath the surface. I was very impressed by the resilience that students showed during the last year and a half as we all dealt with all of the challenges that COVID-19 presented. "
Fun fact about you: "I love music and spend a lot of my free time outside of work playing guitar, singing, working on songs, and going to live shows. Definitely one of the things I have missed over the last year!"
