Heather earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Texas Woman's University. Completed a dual internship with the University of Texas Arlington Counseling Center and Sante Center for Healing, a residential addiction rehabilitation center. Her experience includes working in two previous Counseling Centers, a psychiatric hospital, a nonprofit center for adolescent and family therapy, individual and couples counseling, and within the school district serving K-12 students. Her clinical interests include epigenetics, psychoneuroimmunology, trauma recovery, attachment, addiction/substance abuse, anxiety, depression, couples therapy, working with athletes, mindfulness meditation, relationship/communication issues, and outreach. Heather truly enjoys getting to work with university students at such a critical time period in their lives. It is an honor to witness their growth and progress! Her hobbies and interests include any sport or anything outdoors, spending time with her two amazing children and animals, and finding new places.
