University of North Texas Student Veteran Services continued its commitment to Soldiers' Angels Warm Feet for Warriors Project collecting 661 pairs of socks.

Student Veteran Services along with the help of University Advancement organized a sock drive to benefit Soldiers' Angels Warm Feet for Warriors Project.  In its second year organizing the drive, donations increased by 40 percent. According to Solders' Angels, socks are among the most requested items by service members and veterans. To encourage donations, seven donation sites were located across UNT's Denton campus as well as University of North Texas Health Science Center and UNT at Frisco. In all, 661 pairs of socks will go to the Warm Feet for Warriors project. UNT San Antonio alumni were on hand to present the donation and memorialized the event with a photo.

Soldiers' Angels is a global network of volunteers who support troops and veterans by providing aid and resources for them and their families. All donated socks are distributed to deployed Service Members around the world and to Veterans in VA Hospitals across the country.

Thank you to everyone who participated and donated. The next Warm Feet for Warriors sock drive will take place February through March with a goal of 1,000 pairs of new socks.
