Viewfinder is a two-person exhibition featuring artists Chenxi Gao and Jae-Eun Suh.
Artists use the viewfinder as a tool to frame, crop, and ultimately find the composition
that is close to their heart. Rather than a still life or a scene, Gao and Suh both
look at their memories thoughtfully through the viewfinder. What they see and choose
reflects their current situation and feelings. The artists incorporate their surroundings
and turn the banal, everyday space into abstract places and collection of different
moments. Through connecting the past with the present, artists seek to lift up the
values of the overlooked elements and reconnect the broken and faded bond.
