Summer Memberships, Programs, and Items Available Now
You can purchase your summer memberships and register for our summer programs and events now! From Kids Learn-To-Swim (offered multiple times throughout the summer), Fitness special programs like Boot Camp and Get Up and Move, to Family Climb at the climbing wall – we offer a little bit of something for everyone. Be sure to pick up our Summer 2017 brochure which highlights all of what we have going on this summer, or you can download a PDF version from our website here. We also have items like lockers and towel service too, so stop on by and join today! 

Payroll Deduction
Signing up for payroll deduction is a great way to have your membership taken out of your paycheck as a low monthly installment. You can find a copy of our payroll deduction forms for the summer months here. The first deadline is Friday, May 12.

Student Money Management Center Director Receives National Award

Paul Goebel, founding and managing director of the Student Money Management Center, has been named the 2017 CashCourse Financial Educator of the Year by the National Endowment for Financial Education. The award honors an educator going above and beyond to promote financial literacy on their campus. The award recipient exhibits exemplary innovation and dedication to their students’ financial well-being. 

"For me, this special acknowledgment not does reflect the singular accomplishments of just one person; rather, it mirrors the incredible difference and impact the entire SMMC team has made and is making as a team in the lives of students every week," Paul Goebel said after being notified of his selection. "I am just fortunate enough to have the honor of leading such an incredible team."

Student Money Management Center Ranks #2 in Top 50 College Financial Literacy Programs

The UNT Student Money Management Center has been ranked #2 in LendEDU’s study on the Top 50 College Financial Literacy Programs. Financial literacy among college students is as important as ever, and the SMMC continues to be a recognized leader in the field of collegiate financial literacy education.

The rankings were compiled for the Top 50 College Financial Literacy Programs by using a unique scoring system based on three parameters. The three parameters and their assigned weight were as follows: (1) Number of Workshops and Resources Available -- 50%; (2) Access to One-On-One Financial Consultation -- 30%; (3) Incentivizing Programs Available -- 20%.

Office of Disability Accommodation DEAF CONNECT Partners with UNT Career Center

The Office of Disability Accommodation DEAF CONNECT Program partnered with the Career Center to provide career services to deaf students and alumni. ODA disability interpreter Randalynn Johnson reported that after their Career Center visit, several students were already checking the Career Center Website for internship opportunities and mock interviews.

Congratulations to Counseling and Testing's Willow on passing her Pet Partners examination. She is now a fully licensed and registered therapist through our Animal Assisted Therapy program in the Counseling Center.

Career Center Presents NEW Eagle Internship Program

Are you looking for fantastic student interns to assist you in high-level projects and initiatives? 
Are the student employment opportunities you provide in your department so much more than a job?
Would you like to provide student employees with more opportunities to professionally develop? 
Register your department for the new Eagle Internship Program.

The Eagle Internship Program is a high impact program designed to contribute to the student learning experience. By collaborating with on-campus departments, the Career Center’s Eagle Internship Program will enrich the lives of our students and help promote student engagement on UNT’s campus. Eagle Internships are paid, hourly, on-campus positions that provide an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to expand their knowledge and gain hands-on experience. These internships also allow students to work alongside University faculty and staff.
 
This qualifies as a UNT Career Connect program!

Increased Number of UNT Students with a Healthy Disregard for the Impossible

The Center for Leadership & Service has wrapped up its seventh annual LeaderShape Institute. This year, 58 students attended the Institute and are ready to change campus and the world! The week would not have been possible without Cluster Facilitators and On-Site Coordinators. We would like to personally thank Kally Jorgensen (Student Activities), Gary Cocke (Sustainability), Kerry Stanhope (Health & Wellness), Nathan Edwards (TRIO), Kelsey Kunkle (Transfer Center), Sara Watkins (Emerald Eagles Scholars), Brittany Ankeny-Dooley (Center for Leadership & Service) and Amber Helton. Chapters Shine at Greek Awards

Greek Life wrapped up Greek Week and the semester by celebrating the accomplishments of the Greek Life community and its supporters for the 2016 calendar year.  Chapters and students competed for a total of 77 possible awards with many being Council specific. We would like to spotlight the Chapters of the Year, Greek Man and Woman of the Year, Advisor of the Year, and the Academic Excellence Award.
 
Chapters of the Year were awarded to:
•    Alpha Phi for the Panhellenic Council
•    Alpha Tau Omega for the Interfraternity Council
•    Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. for the National Pan-Hellenic Council 
•    Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. for the Multicultural Greek Council.
 
Greek Man of the Year was awarded to:

•    Kiran Singh from Delta Epsilon Psi Fraternity, Inc. for MGC
