UNT student Ian McFarland, president of the Iota-Zeta Chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha, was selected to serve on the Lambda Chi Alpha Student Advisory Committee. The Student Advisory Committee, which was formed in 1970, was created to help Lambda Chi Alpha staff and the Board of Directors stay in touch with current undergraduate concerns and problems and allow undergraduates to communicate directly with Lambda Chi Alpha’s highest levels of international authority.

McFarland was selected along with 15 other undergraduate brothers across the U.S. and Canada to help represent the 10,000 undergraduate brothers. From those 16 undergraduates, the Student Advisory Committee elects 4 undergraduate brothers on the committee to serve on the Grand High Zeta (Board of Directors) to give a unique undergraduate insight to the fraternity. McFarland was elected to serve on the board as Grand High Psi and work along with it to make decisions regarding issues internally and externally about the fraternity.

“This opportunity has given me incredibly valuable insight into not just Lambda Chi Alpha, but fraternity life as a whole,” said McFarland. “During my term, I am confident that I will be able to bring back great information to not only help my chapter succeed, but also other Lambda Chi Alpha chapters.”
