Mean Green Scream was the theme to this year’s Homecoming week at UNT. Homecoming week (Monday, October 23 to Saturday, October 28) was packed with many events leading up to the football game against Memphis. Homecoming events had over 11,000 attendees throughout the week.

The weeklong celebration started with the Homecoming Picnic, hosted by Student Activities with around 2,500 students, faculty and staff in attendance. This event had appearances from the Homecoming court, UNT Cheer and Dancers, Scrappy and the UNT band.

Another big event during the week was Yell Like Hell. This annual Homecoming competition featured dancing, performances, stepping and loads of Mean Green spirit from fraternities, sororities, campus dorms and campus organizations. This event had a little over 1,600 attendants. 

The final pep rally of Homecoming week was the Spirit March and Bonfire. The Spirit March event had around 500 members of the UNT community walk from Greek row to DATCU stadium cheering their love for their university throughout the way there. This year’s bonfire event had over 6,000 participants making it one of the most attended bonfires in UNT history.

Friday night, University Program Council hosted the Spirit Bash. This concert event featured singer Leanna Firestone inside the University Union.

The Division of Student Affairs hosted 10 different Homecoming events this year, ranging from Yell Like Hell, Field Day, UPConcert, Homecoming Picnic and more throughout the Denton, Frisco and Discovery Park campuses.
