UNT was ranked #8 for Top 10 Military Friendly Tier 1 Research Institutions in the 2018 Guide to Military Friendly Schools, published by Victory Media. This ranking designates UNT as one of “the best of the best.”

Military Friendly Top 10 School LogoThe Military Friendly ratings program was started in 2003 as an advocacy vehicle to encourage civilian organizations to invest in programs to recruit, retain and advance veterans as employees, entrepreneurs and students. Military Friendly Schools strive towards and succeed in the areas that matter most in helping veterans make the transition from the military to school and, ultimately, satisfying careers in the civilian world.

This latest ranking adds to UNT’s other recent recognitions of being named to Military Times: Best Colleges 2018 rankings, formerly known as Best for Vets, coming in at number 42 in the country (up from 50 last year) and being selected as a Top School in the Military Advanced Education & Transition’s 2018 Guide to Colleges and Universities research study.

UNT’s Student Veteran Services builds and maintains a community at UNT with individuals who have served in the U.S. military in hopes of supporting a seamless transition from military life to civilian college life. The goal is to remove barriers that student veterans face with the transition support. Student Veteran Services provides student veterans and dependents connections to resources both on and off campus and gives recognition to the service members in the UNT community through programs and scholarships.
