The University of North Texas Dining Services has outdone itself, capturing three grand prize awards at the 2024 NACUFS National Conference. This achievement marks the most recognitions earned by any participating institution.
The annual awards ceremony, hosted by the National Association of College & University Food Services (NACUFS), recognizes outstanding contributions to collegiate dining while celebrating innovation and excellence in the field. UNT Dining competed in four categories and was honored with grand prizes in three, including: Innovative Dining Program of the Year, Residential Special Event of the Year for National Hispanic Heritage Month, and Catering Program of the Year.
"Every member of our Dining team contributed to this outstanding recognition," said Peter Balabuch, executive director of Dining Services. "This national honor highlights the hard work and passion of our team in creating exceptional dining experiences for everyone at UNT. Their continued service and dedication to the UNT community make this achievement possible."
Prior to the national conference, UNT Dining competed against a broad range of universities and colleges to clinch three gold awards and one silver at the Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards. The wins qualified the Dining team to compete for grand prize recognitions at the National Conference in Louisville last week.
