Campus Student Services

Student Activities

Located in The Union, Student Activities is where you will find your Non-Traditional Student Representative.  If you have any questions, comments, concerns or need help in any way, your student representative is here for you. There are general access computers for student use and lounge space where you can find a place to do homework, hold informal meetings or just relax between classes. Student Activities manages the over 400 student organizations. Finally, this office plans most of the campus-wide events like Homecoming, Mean Green Fling, and EarthFest.

Discovery Park

Discovery Park is a 290-acre branch campus located 5 miles north of the main campus on Highway 77 in Denton. It is home to UNT’s College of Engineering, College of Information, and the Computing and Information Technology Center. Bus transportation between the two campuses is scheduled several times a day between 7 am and 10 pm.

Computer Labs

There are over a dozen full-access computer labs on the UNT main campus and at Discovery Park. At these locations, you can get full access to the internet and all UNT online resources, as well as free printing services with your UNT ID. You can use your computer access to do homework, create presentations, check your email, read the news, watch a video, or just surf the internet. Some computer labs, such as the Language Lab, are reserved for specific purposes, but others are general-purpose computer labs. A list of all the computer labs can be accessed at  https://computerlabs.unt.edu/spring-lab-hours-and-information.

Libraries

UNT Libraries are dedicated to providing innovative programs and support services to enhance the relationship between teaching and learning at the University of North Texas. As the most-used service on campus and an essential component of education and research at UNT, the Libraries offer access to more than 6 million items (print and digital) along with expert personnel to assist you in achieving your academic and scholarly goals.

  • Willis Library is the main library on campus, housing the business, economics, education, humanities, and social sciences collections along with microforms and special collections. Willis is open 24 hours/7 days a week for most of the year. It offers general access to desktop computers, laptop checkout, printing and copying services, and The Study- a cozy coffee shop.
  • The Media Library in Chilton Hall houses a large collection of audiovisual materials, including films, audiobooks, VR (virtual reality) headsets, and video games. Video recording equipment, gaming consoles, and board games are available for checkout.
  • The Eagle Commons Library in Sycamore Hall focuses on physics, chemistry, biology, art, psychology, and mathematics. It also houses the Collaboration and Learning Commons, an ideal place to study in groups, create multi-media projects, and record presentations.
  • The Discovery Park Library supports the College of Engineering and the College of Information, Library Science, and Technologies. It covers multiple areas of engineering, library and information science, and learning technology.
  • The Library Annex contains remote storage, the Technical Services Department, and the Preservation Unit. Items in storage are included in the library online catalog and may be requested for research.

Your UNT ID card allows you access to all of these library services, as well as The Blagg-Huey Library at Texas Woman’s University on the northeast side of Denton.

You can also use your UNT ID in Willis to request a TexShare card. The TexShare card gives you the ability to check out items from any public library; including, but not limited to- SMU, UTA, Dallas Public Libraries, and many more.
