My name is Arlene Rivero, Ph.D. and I am a Licensed Psychologist. I received my Bachelors
in Psychology at UT Austin, a Masters counseling psychology from UNT and a PhD in
Counseling Psychology also at UNT. My Internship was completed at the Dallas Consortium
(SMU &UTD Counseling Centers) and Post Doc work at Texas A&M Student Counseling Service,
in College Station. I consider it a privilege and a joy to work with college students
as this is such an important time of growth, discovery and resilience. As staff member
with Counseling and Testing Services since 2010, my passions also include training
and supervision of practicum students, personal growth and providing spaces of safety
and exploration in the counseling room. I enjoy working with people from varying backgrounds
and abilities and consider myself a generalist. I also serve as a ¼ time faculty member
for the psychology department in vocational counseling and vocational counseling is
also an area of work that is fulfilling. It has been my pleasure to serve UNT students
at Counseling and Testing look forward to the continued growth and connection with
the student body in the years to come.
