Gabriel Lira

Gabriel Lira has been an integral part of the TRIO family since 2018, when he began as a participant in the UNT Upward Bound program. After graduating from the program in 2021, Gabriel chose to continue his journey with Upward Bound as a Student Worker while pursuing his degree at the University of North Texas. Over the next three years, he served in multiple roles, including Student Worker, Residential Advisor, and Teacher.

In 2024, Gabriel graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in History, with minors in Spanish and Psychology. That fall, he transitioned into a part-time role as a Student Services Specialist and Talent Search Advisor, continuing his commitment to student success. In 2025, Gabriel became a full-time Upward Bound employee, serving as a Student Support Coordinator, and is excited to help foster greater futures by empowering students to achieve their academic and personal goals.
