Bio:
Mia is a student and program specialist for the office of disability access. She is currently pursuing her bachelor’s in social work. Before coming to the office of disability access, she worked in the athletics department at UNT as an assistant learning specialist for the academic program for a year. Prior to that she worked at a psychiatric hospital in Denton, Texas helping disabled veterans and first responders. She’s spent the last two summers volunteering with Texas Work Ready helping disabled highschoolers as a job skills coach. Mia values open communication as a means of fostering community through collaboration and curiosity. When outside of the office she enjoys connecting with friends and loved ones through gardening, baking, crafting, and crocheting.
