UNT Transfer Excellence Scholarships
Transfer Excellence Scholarships are available to undergraduate students that have a demonstrated track record of
academic success who are transferring to UNT for the first time from a community college
or an accredited university. These two-year awards range from $1,500 to $4,000 per year based on transfer cumulative GPA.
Good Neighbor Program
The Good Neighbor Program provides tuition assistance to students from other nations of the Western Hemisphere
(other than Cuba). At UNT, the Good Neighbor Exemption is administered by Financial
Aid and Scholarships (FAS), as directed by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). This scholarship exempts the student from the payment of tuition only for one year
(fall, spring, and summer). Selected recipients are responsible for paying fees.
In furthering our mission to increase and retain the number of individuals choosing
the transit field as a career, the APTF will award a minimum of thirty scholarships,
ranging from $5,000 to $12,000 to college students or transit professionals who are
interested in pursuing or advancing in a career in the public transportation industry.
Awards cover the academic year, beginning in the fall 2024 semester, and assist with
tuition costs or other educational expenses. Other APTF Scholarships are also located on their website.
RAD Scholarship
Sponsored by the Rob Dollar Foundation, this scholarship is aimed toward students who are looking to pursue careers in civil
engineering or city planning and are passionate about bike and pedestrian safety.
Preference will be given to students who are also actively involved in the cycling
community in addition to degree requirements.
