YOU ARE NOT ALONE

Non-traditional students are the new normal! According to the National Center for Education Statistics, about 74% of students enrolled in higher education fit into the broader definition of non-traditional students and this percentage continues to grow! On average, 80% of non-traditional students are enrolled part-time (3-9 hours), 28% are single parents, and 41% work in a full-time career. While some characteristics of this evolving and multifaceted student group continue to develop, they share distinct, individual, and pressing needs to overcome the additional challenges they may face while completing a degree.

Free Sports and Event Tickets

All UNT students can attend any home sporting event free of charge with their student ID. Come out and see the Mean Green football team take on Conference USA in the new, state-of-the-art Datcu Stadium, or watch the always-impressive Mean Green Basketball teams rock the Super Pit. Every semester, UNT offers world-class concerts, lectures, films and performances free of charge to its students. From former Presidents and world leaders to the biggest names in music, and performance art, UNT offers the best free entertainment and learning experiences in all of North Texas.

Community Discounts

Many students come to UNT and never get their student ID card, but did you know that many of the business in Texas will give student discounts? It is worth the trip to the ESSC to receive the many benefits and discounts available to you by simply showing your student ID. Find a small list of some of the places where you may recieve a student discount, however, we recommend that you show it at every business- just in case!
