Project VolUNTeer is a student organization that empowers passionate students to serve throughout the community. We are dedicated to creating and implementing programs that help students become active participants in civic engagement. Project VolUNTeer is comprised of individuals who volunteer frequently at various agencies on and off campus.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday January 20th, 2020 the Center for Leadership and Service, Multicultural Center, and the Office of Outreach will be working together to host the 2nd annual celebration of his service. This day will consist of a brunch, guest speakers, and service opportunities followed by an MLK Rally and MLK March to the MLK Center in Denton! For the service projects we will be creating housing insecurity kits for Denton County Friends of the Family, teacher supply kits for Develop U a non-profit in Dallas, as well as school supply kits for Cumberland Presbyterian Children’s Home in Denton.

Day of Event Schedule

*All located in the BLB Atrium 

  • 9:30 AM - Check-in
  • 10:00 AM - Brunch
  • 11:30 AM - Service
  • 2:00 PM - MLK Rally
  • 2:30 PM - MLK March
    • Meet at the UNT Union across from the bus stop to march to MLK Center
  • 3:30 PM - MLK Center Program
    • MLK Center of Denton
  • 6:00 PM - Dallas Dinner Table
