Scrappy in the food pantryWe believe in helping and empowering our students while they are at the University of North Texas as well as giving them the tools to be successful for the rest of their lives. Many times, throughout the year we provide opportunities for the UNT Community to learn about resources and programs available to our community.

Each fall the Dean of Students Office collaborates with a number of campus and community resources to raise awareness of food and housing insecurity during Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week by providing opportunities throughout the week to get connected.  In the past, we have had Community Resource Fairs, Donation Drives, SNAP Benefits Workshops, and Cooking Demonstrations.

Staff with the Community Garden have created this helpful guide campaign guide on cooking and storing fresh produce that is donated from their garden! They also created a Produce Recipe Book Produce Recipe Book campaign to show you a variety of ways to cook, store, and prolong the produce shelf life!

Check out these Recipe Cards using ingredients commonly found in food pantries!
