Community Resources through Tarrant Area Food Bank

Through the UNT Food Pantry's partnership with Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB), community members are able to get connected with a variety of  resources that help families and individuals with food, financial, and healthcare assistance.

SNAP

SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) provides food benefits to low-income families to supplement their grocery budget so they can afford the nutritious food essential to health and well-being (usda.gov). Certain foods may even be accessed for free! Check your eligibility: Income Guidelines

CHIP

CHIP (Children's Health Insurance Program) helps children who's families cannot qualify for Medicaid nor can they afford insurance (hhs.Texas.Gov). Check options for different plans: Choosing a Health Plan.

TANF

TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) provides cash assistance for families with children under 18. Financial assistance can be sued for food, clothing, housing, transportation, and other basic needs (HHS.Texas.Gov). Check your eligibility: TANF Cash Help

Healthy Texas Women Program

The Healthy Texas Women program provides no-cost health services to eligible women or uterus owners.  This care can help eligible participants with family planning, whether that means achieving, postponing, or preventing pregnancy (healthytexaswomen.org). Check the requirements: Who Can Apply?
