The Goolsby Chapel was dedicated on September 29, 2001, as a gift from State Representative and UNT alum Tony Goolsby ('61) and his wife, Toppy. The chapel offers a quiet and peaceful place for prayer, meditation, or reflection on campus. The chapel is nondenominational and not affiliated with any one religion; all are welcome. The Goolsby Chapel is open weekdays from 9:00 AM to 7:00pm when classes are in session. Special reservation hours are available for private events of a spiritual nature such as religious study groups, religious services, weddings, or memorials with a 10-day advance reservation.
Goolsby Chapel has a distinctive, round sanctuary replete with beautiful stained-glass windows and a skylight, a high ceiling, exceptional acoustics, soft natural lighting complimented by custom dimmable lighting, and comfortable seating for 64 in standard configuration. The chapel also offers restrooms and a dressing room, two smaller sitting areas, a beautifully landscaped outdoor courtyard shaded by mature oak trees, and a flowing outdoor fountain. The stained-glass windows, courtyard, and fountain all provide great backdrops for photographs.
