As high school seniors near graduation, the decisions they make in these final months can have a lasting impact on their futures. With college applications submitted and acceptance letters received, the next major step can feel overwhelming.
To assist in this transition, Orientation and Transition Programs hosted a Senior Year Experience Day, offering students and their families a variety of activities designed to help them learn more about life at UNT. The event featured a lively tailgate lunch, opportunities to explore summer camp options, access to student resources and the chance to cheer on the UNT men’s basketball team.
“By blending support with celebration, we hope to inspire confidence in their next steps and excitement for their future here at UNT,” said Derica Cabrera, student services coordinator of Orientation and Transition Programs. “Our goal is to support high school students by creating meaningful experiences, fostering a sense of belonging, and welcoming them into the Mean Green family.”
For many, this is an important time to ensure they are making an informed choice. Selecting the right university is critical, as it can influence both their academic and personal growth during their college years. While the decision-making process can often feel overwhelming and stressful, it also offers an opportunity to explore a variety of programs and services that help them feel confident and enthusiastic as they take their next steps toward a bright and promising future.
