Orientation Team Members are students who are selected to assist with new student and family transition to UNT. Orientation Team Members must be flexible, perceptive, willing to take initiative, empathetic, and team-orientated. The Orientation Team goes through intensive training. This unique leadership experience hires students to serve as Orientation Leaders working with new students, and Parent Ambassadors working with parents and family members.
Orientation Leaders are students who are selected to assist with the new student and family transition to UNT. Tasks range from leading small group meetings, to providing technical assistance on the myUNT website to comforting a student who feels homesick or providing assistance during orientation programs to answering general questions about UNT for incoming freshman and transfer students. Members of the Orientation Leader Team must be flexible, perceptive, willing to take initiative, empathetic, and team-orientated. The Orientation Leader Team goes through intensive training during the spring and summer.

Parent Ambassadors are students who are selected to assist with new student and family transition to UNT. Tasks range from assisting during orientation programs to answering general questions about UNT for parents of incoming freshman and transfer students. While working in this role, Parent Ambassadors have the opportunity to enhance their communication skills and help contribute to the positive first impression we strive to provide prospective students and their families. Parent Ambassadors must be flexible, extremely self-motivated, and hard-working.
