About Graduate Orientation

In order to assist you with your transition to UNT, we are excited to offer a New Graduate Student Orientation experience for new graduate students. During orientation, you will have the chance to learn about our campus services, hear from administrators, and connect with other new students.

Students can sign-up for the university's New Graduate Orientation through their MyUNT portal. There is no fee for graduate orientation.

Department Advising

Academic advising is not part of the Graduate Orientation schedule. Students are encouraged to contact their major department with questions about course registration or advising. A list of all graduate advisors can be found online here.

International Student Orientation

International students are required to attend orientation through the Division of International Affairs. Review items that will be covered by the International Student Advising Center.

Graduate Student Teaching Excellence Program

The Graduate Student Teaching Excellence Program (GSTEP) is a zero-credit course designed for all UNT graduate students regardless of teaching experience. The course focuses on a variety of topics related to university teaching and student learning.
