Parent Programs at UNT was established to enhance the college experience for both parents and students and help build sustaining relationships between parents and UNT. Our goal is to provide parents and families with information to help better understand their student’s life at UNT. We believe partnering with family members supports student success. Connect with us on Facebook by joining the group Mean Green Family.
The University of North Texas recognizes the important role families and friends play in the educational process. Each fall the campus opens its doors to embrace those important individuals. Visit the Family Weekend website to learn more.
Together with the North Texas Alumni Association, Parent Programs at UNT is excited to host the Legacy Lunch program. This event will honor our parent and family alumni with current UNT students at a luncheon and pinning ceremony. We realize the importance of parent involvement in a student's college career, and want to recognize your membership in the North Texas community. Visit the Legacy Lunch website to learn more.
Mean Green Family Live presentations are organized to help better inform the UNT community about programs and initiatives on our campus. Presentaiton format includes Facebook live events broadcast on the UNT Parent Programs facebook page and webinars where participants can engage live with presenters. To see a listing of upcoming presentations and view past recordings, visit the Mean Green Family Live website or Mean Green Family Live en Espanol.
The Parent & Family Connection program is designed for parents who want more information to help their students continue to succeed at UNT. Join us for a lunch program to gain more information on how to tackle some of the challenges your students (or you) have faced.
Parent Programs, along with the UNT Parent Association, proudly offer Send-Off Parties across the state of Texas and around the country. Send-Off Parties are events where new UNT students and their families can meet others in the area also going to UNT. Staff from UNT will be in attendance to answer any last minute questions you might have before Move-In Weekend in August. Join us for a free meal and prizes (like your chance to win a free registration to Family Weekend or a $250 scholarship for the fall)! Must be in attendance to be eligible for prizes. These events are free for UNT students and up to 2 guests, but an RSVP is required. Guests are encouraged to arrive within the first hour of the scheduled party to be eligible for the prize drawings. Visit the Summer Send Off Parties website for event locations and details.
Parent Programs has partnered with BreakShuttle to provide break transportation for UNT students during both Thanksgiving and Spring Break. BreakShuttle is the largest national provider of college and university break transportation services in the United States. They are committed to providing reliable, safe, and convenient transportation services on luxury coach buses that allow even the most remote colleges and universities to have a "pop up" transportation network around major school breaks. Bus trips are provided by BreakShuttle, a separate entity from the University of North Texas. The office of Orientation and Transition Programs at the University of North Texas works with BreakShuttle to ensure these trips are possible. Visit the Break Shuttle Website to book your tickets.
